Latest Updates on the Arrangements for “Gainful Use of TSA 2020 Materials” (13 July 2020)

 

Pursuant to EDB’s announcement on 10 July regarding the early commencement of summer holiday for all secondary and primary schools as well as kindergartens in Hong Kong based on schools’ practical needs, details of the latest arrangements on the “Gainful Use of TSA 2020 Materials” (the Arrangements) are as follows:

Remark

1) Using the STAR Online Version of the Assessment Resources
Participating in the Arrangements from 13 - 31 July 2020 (including those schools which have yet to reserve assessment time slot(s)) a) To distribute and arrange students to use the assessment resources on the STAR platform at home or in school during the scheduled time slot(s); or

b) To participate in Period 2 instead

If students use the assessment resources at home, they are recommended to do so during schools’ originally scheduled time slot(s), and schools should remind parents to let students finish the assessment(s) on their own.

If schools intend to amend their scheduled time slot(s) in Period 1, changes can be made on the 'Assessment Time Slot Reservation System' (ATSRS) of the Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity).

With regard to Period 2, schools can reserve assessment time slots on the ATSRS from 22 July
onwards.

Participating in the Arrangements in Period 2 To reserve assessment time slots on the ATSRS from 22 July onwards  
2) Using the Printed Version of the Assessment Resources
Arranging to distribute the assessment resources to students and complete during the designated periods

a) To arrange students to complete the assessments at home and return them to schools; or

b) To use the assessment resources on the STAR platform during Period 1 or Period 2 instead

If schools change to use the STAR platform, please contact the HKEAA. For schools planning to participate in Period 2, they can reserve assessment time slots on the ATSRS from 22 July onwards.
3) Using the Marking Services for the Writing Papers and Participating in the Questionnaire Survey on Students' Learning Situation
Having opted to return the completed scripts of writing assessments and/or questionnaires to the courier arranged by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) on 16, 23 or 31 July 2020 To proceed with the collection as scheduled If schools would like to change the date of returning the scripts and questionnaires, please contact the HKEAA.
Having arranged to participate in the writing assessments and/or the questionnaires in Period 1 (except for those using the assessment resources for Primary 6) To be automatically registered as participating schools in Period 2 (i.e. from 3 September to 14 October 2020) With regard to the relevant arrangements for Period 2, the HKEAA will contact schools in due course.

 

Latest Arrangements for Period 2

 

Period 2 will be advanced to 3 September 2020 and further extended to 14 October 2020. Schools can reserve assessment time slots via the ATSRS of the HKEdCity from 22 July onwards. Subject to participation, the HKEAA will flexibly adjust the
collection services of the completed writing papers and questionnaires, and will contact participating schools for follow-up.
